The image on the right is a cross section of a composite laminate made with two of Arjay's products: These two products are used to increase the manufacturability of this part which has curvy and tight geometry. The Brushable Radius Compound (#2121) is applied directly to the gel coat to eliminate air voids in the radius. The Medium Weight Bonding Comound (#2001) is applied between the skin and main structural laminate to allow the structural laminate to lay flat and roll out easily.
The next image shows a cross section of a cored composite structure made with Arjay's Core Bonding Compound (#4001). The Core Bonding Compound was applied to the base laminate and the PVC was vacuum bagged into the Core Bonding Compound to create a strong defect-free bond between the base laminate and PVC foam. In addition, the core material may be manually bedded into the Core Bonding Compound. Arjay's Core Bonding Compound is compatible with all major core materials including PVC and balsa wood.
The image to the rights shows a cross section of Arjay's #6011 Ceramic Pourable Compound. The Ceramic Pourable Compound is an ideal product for filling large volumes with emphasis on strength and rigidity. The no wood, no rot feature of this product makes it an excellent choice for coring power boat transoms. Please refer to the #6011 application guide for more information.
